Sterndrive installation question

Will it be ok to install my sterndrive without the lower shift mechanism hooked up at the motor?
I'm ready to stab this but haven't finished hooking the shift cable up at the motor.

much easier when in a stand ,plus you can pressure check it there too

I have a wooden stand, but I am wondering about the lower shift cable, it's not hooked up at the motor. Will it be an adjustment problem, or can I in stall the stern without any issues?

Yes. Just make sure the shoe is straight ahead.
