Can these motors idle down enough for trolling? Its a 2004 Carb. Also, a dealer said a 4 cyl Yahmaha F50 would troll down slower than a 3 cyl F40. Something about 4 cyl. being able to idle down better than 3 cyl. Any thoughts.

The F50 will be on a Alumacraft Lunker 16 LTD (660lb).
I am considering a 2005 16ft Lunker LTD Tiller with a a 2004 F50 Yamaha 4 Stroke. Anybody else us a similar combo. I'm just wondering about performance, can you troll down slow enough, etc.

I know I'm not under powered since this is the biggest motor the boat can handle.
<br...
Anyone have any thoughts or experience with these motors. I'm considering a purchase of one as part of a boat package. The motor has never been used and is coming with a 6 year Warranty. I know these motors are not EFI but are they still a good motor? Everything I read seems the indicate so.
I have read a couple if different posts on the bigfoot vs standard Merc but am still unsure about the implications in my scenerio.

I am planning on purchasing a fishing boat with a 25hp 4 stroke (something). I have found a nice package that includes the boat I'm looking for (typlical...
I am considering purchasing a Lund WC16 DLX and putting on a Yamaha 25 4 stroke. The main reason for the 25hp is that I will be fishing Minnesota Border lakes that have 25hp restrictions. If not for this I would probably go to a 40hp.

I'm getting some feedback from dealers and other...

What is the proper oil/gas mixture for my 1958 johnson sea horse 7 1/2hp. Gas tank says mix 1 quart of S.A.E 30 with 6 gallons gas. Not sure what they mean by S.A.E 30. Is that a standard two stroke oil.
I have a 1974 6hp Evinrude that has water in one cylinder. What is the most likely problem? Cracked Head? Head Gasket? How easy is it to replace the head gasket if this is the problem?
I just picked up a 1958 Johnson 7.5 H.P. and have a question. The motor runs perfect but when I put it in Reverse the lever won't stay in place. I have to hold it with my hand. Is this normal and if not how do I go about repairing it?
