    Swap wood panel in upholstery

Thanks Chris, Yes I realise it needs stainless Tnuts and bolts. As said I know I have 3 of the originals, 1Tnut and bolt was missing where the wood had rotted but I don't remember if I removed it from the rotted wood last year (in which case it'll be in a 'box of bits' I keep in the boat), or...

    Swap wood panel in upholstery

Today I went to a local woodyard and bought the 3/4 marine ply, ordered some 'silk wrap', Monel staples and West System 205/105 epoxy. I've still got the original hinges and at least 3 out of the 4 Tnuts and countersunk head bolts for the hinges, not sure if I've got all 4 Tnuts and bolts...

    Swap wood panel in upholstery

Thanks. As said it's not really a seat, it's the panel that runs the width of the boat over the rear of the engine, it's behind and above the rear seat backrests. I ordered some cushion 'silk wrap' that's apparently the same kind of thin plastic sheeting the foam was wrapped in. I didn't know...

    Swap wood panel in upholstery

My boat is a 1996 Four Winns Sundower. The wood that forms the base of the upholstered panel that runs the width of the boat between rear seats and swim platform (the upward facing trim you'd climb over to get into the boat from the swim platform, it's hinged to the boat to allow access to the...

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

My daughter in law is from Lafeyette, Louisiana, she lives here now with my son. Her aunt (also from Lafeyette) is here visiting over Christmas, they all stayed in a hotel in York a couple of nights but didn't visit the train museum.

    Survey

I've wondered how much alignment changes between engine off and engine putting full torque to the drive, transom and engine mounts anyway...

Yes I'm in a small town in the UK around 30 miles from York and the museum I mentioned. Occasionally Flying Scotsman gets used for commemorative / nostalgia / special events, when it does it sometimes comes through this town. I'd forgotten it was built around 10 miles from here in Doncaster.

We like to visit a train museum in York once every few years, they have a few famous old trains like Fying Scotsman and Mallard, I'm most interested in the cutaway views through the boilers of some old engines. https://www.railwaymuseum.org.uk/ They used to have a Spitfire suppoerted on a pole...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Look forward to seeing some pics / video of it on the water when its done. I noticed some boats on the river near me had inboards removed and outboards fitted but only small outboards to use for cruising the river and inland waterways, nothing like the effort or engineering going into this...

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

Had a couple of those myself. Prone to rear diff problems (staying locked up or whining) though? One of my customers is a fan of the later Hemi engine'd Jeeps, collects and runs them, fixes some up and sells them on, I do quite a lot of work for him on them. He's an IT guy and wrote some...

Reminder to check gear before towing.

There was a fella driving back from the coast when he was pulled over by a police car. He became a little irate as soon as he saw the blue lights. The police officer said "Calm down, I only pulled you over because you have a tail bulb out". The fella said "Yeah but where's my ******* boat...
