Left the ramp without issue. Moved spots a few times. Motor suddenly difficult to start and idling very low sputtering out. Gave it some gas and noticed the motor sounded different - low pitch as a 4 stroke would! Also very low power.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any tips where to start...
Picked this up off of classifieds. The red button on the center of the tiller handle needs a lot of pressure to kill the engine. I know this button is an issue on older outboards - i have a 1990 15hp that the red buton doesn't even do anything. Any idea how I can fix this stiff button?
Picked up an old '68 Merc 110 9.8hp that runs OK as long as the 10' zodiac is empty. It does sputter a bit a mid rpm on full throttle but eventually revs up and planes the boat after a few seconds. The sputtering is just before the boat planes.
