Long story short, Friends new boat has some damage. The transom hole was apparently cut to low and repaired, its since gotten worse.
Its a new to them boat pulled the engines for some upgrades and found this.
How can it be repaired without a whole transom redo? The wood is not rotten.

I had thought about putting an aluminum plate on the outside of the transom, about the size of the primer spot. But ill have to sand down all the primer and redo the transom paint job. i don't want to seal bad primer between two layers of aluminum. And...
