Thank you MattFL for you comment. I think the fuel in water is not a problem because the little float in the fuel water separator does not indicate that there is water in the fuel. (Theres a little red float that would float if water is present). I did check compression and it looks normal, same...
I cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the iac valve, clean the map sensor and reinstall everything, the engine still run rough. And still hard to start. I'm going to check valve clearance next. Can anyone show me how to adjust timing or verify timing?
Here is a video of the injectors on the fuel rail, the lanyard was removed so no spark to cause fire. But a fire extinguisher was nearby. :)
Also a video of the MIL lights. I'm reading code 3 and 24. Or is it 3, 10 and 14? the one long light by itself is 10? or is 10 10 quick blink?
I have a 2003 Honda BF130 HP that I personally changed the cylinder head two years ago after finding out that the engine keep having surging problem. I was on iboats asking for help and received a lot of feedback, so thank you! Everything was operational for the last couple of years until...
I went ahead and bought a new cylinder head. I didn't want to chance it and having it break down on me on the water. The old head was in pretty rough condition. Also, head gasket isn't cheap so it was better to spend the money for a new head.
It all went back into smoothly. Well not really. :( I made the mistake of installing the valve stem seals before putting in the valve spring seat. Oops. That mean all the stem seals have to be removed and discarded. They weren't the easiest to take off since I didn't have the correct tools to...
I'm going over the steps to take when i'm in the process to put the head back onto the engine. my thought process is to align the T mark on the camshaft cogwheel to the T mark on the plastic cover. I would then put on the timing belt and loosen the adjusting tension nut by 2/3 turn, then remove...
I normally take the boat out in the open water so I need it to be reliable. I'm lucky that this problem didn't left me stranded the last couple time I went out. Yikes...
I think a new head will be better choice. There will be a better seal with a new head cylinder. The picture show the worried area where seal is lost due to corrosion.
You're correct, the leak is NOT the exhaust valve itself. However when I piur water into the exhaust port, water was trickling out. When I piur water into the intake hole, it held fine. But... After removing the intake valve, I find the hole. Question now is how the heck that happened??? But...
Quick question. As I was cleaning the block, I rotate the crankshaft to move the piston to inspect the cylinder walls. I made a make on the belt (attach to the alternator) and the small pulley. Now I'm not sure when cylinder 1 is tdc at compression stroke. Obviously I can see piston 1 & 4 at...
