    My carb has 2 holes which lead to the manifold. And also 2 air/fuel mix screws.

    Could it be the adjustment of the fuel air mix screws? It a 4 barrel carb, and the right screw seems to be to far open. Is it correct that the right screw is for cylinder 3-4? I also have a feeling that the engine needs an earlier timing. The curve of the delco unit seems to give less advance...

    Compression I don’t know now, but a month ago it was good. the timing is 6 btdc. at 700rpm. Intitial timing is 1 btdc.

    Before the rebuild, the carb and jets were ok. Color of spark plugs was also fine, so I didn’t change the jets.

    my mercruiser 140 4 cyl 1980 might run hot after 30 min boating. Water temp is ok, but does anyone know what temp the oil should be? Oil temp is the same as the outside of the motor I think?
