I have a question. I have 25HP ELH. I have a 20" Transom. I have been told the L in the ELH stand for Long shaft not Extra Long. I beleive the gentleman but now I am really confused. The calvation Plate sits 5" below the transom. Why would a Long shaft engine sit that far below a 20"...
I have a 2005 25hp electic start 2 stroke extra long shaft motor and want to get a smaller hp. I'm not sure how much to ask for it on craigs list. There are no cosmetic problems and the engine is real clean and runs like a top. If someone could Help I would appreciate it.

I bought a 2005 25Hp Electric start mercury today and it needed a fuel connector (engine side) Every thing I see shows a 3/8" female coupler. The problem is the Male side on the enging isnt long enough so the coupler doesnt lock. Cant figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
