    The motor had 0.0 hours on the clock. Cold water from the garden hose was running constantly in the bin. I only ran the motor for about two minutes each time and shut it off immediately when the alarm sounded. I guess the screwy additional water intake above the prop was the the problem but...

    The bin was deep enough to cover to cover all the intakes, over the top of the anticavitation plate and then some. I also never took it above idle.

    I started my brand new Honda 50. I first tried on muffs. Nothing from the telltale and the overheating alarm sounded after a couple of minutes. Then I tried on the muffs with the lower unit submerged in a large Rubbermaid bin. Same thing. Then tried in the bin without the muffs and with water...

    With the latest update to Firefox (60.0b4, 32-bit), the site is jumbled up. Anyone else having this problem. No problem with Chrome.

    There no longer appears to be a way to mark any forum areas as read. Before the upgrade, some forum areas lacked this feature; now, it appears to have disappeared entirely.

    Logging in from multiple platforms

    I was able to change my password and can log in from my PC, but not from my iPhone or may Android tablet using the same username and password. The site tells me, "Sorry, unrecognized username or password." Anyone else having a similar problem?

    Battery location

    My starting battery, in a battery box, is currently located on the starboard side platform behind the deck. (The permanent gas tank is on a matching platform on the port side.) Would it make more sense to mount it in the rear seat compartment, proviing I ensure adequate ventilation?

    What year is my motor?

    I am unable to figure out the year of my 40 HP Merc. No stickers under to cowl or ID plate on the transom bracket. It's a 4 cylinder, 2 stroke with an oil tank inside the cowl.
