Bought used and took to local "Evinrude" dealer for tune up. We took it out with fresh fuel and ran for about 20 minutes, then !BANG! threw a rod in top cylinder.
Cant find any to buy so I ordered a short block. I have started the new block but it had no fire in top cylinder so I put a new coil...
Motor runs fine but I think the linkage is not adjusted correctly and a white sleeve on a link is breaking off.
I need a picture of the linkage in the idle position and a source for the part.
This motor has zero wear and I'll appreciate any advice. It's going on a 22 ft pontoon.

New owner of pontoon boat and motor. Believe it or not the engine has NEVER been used, but sat on the boat at a dock in fresh water until last month, I'm waiting for a gas tank and lines in order to try to start it and would appreciate any advice about what to be careful about to avoid damage...
Does the fuel line require 2 hoses (1fuel- 1 air). Just got the engine but the fuel tank and hoses don't fit. Is there an on line manual available? I'm very experienced with 2 stroke motorcycles but new to the outboards. Motor going on a 21 ft pontoon boat.
