What is your thoughts on using empty plastic water bottles under the floor to reduce the amount of foam that is needed to completely fill all area under the floor? I've never seen an empty bottle sink and I've seen small islands built with them.

I'm putting new floors in my 76 basshound 14' trihull because I discovered one small soft spot was really a lot of rot. My plan is to use 3/4 poplar ply fully encapsulated in resin with fiberglass on top and I'd like some type of covering other than carpet that will add even more water proofing...
Where is the cheapest place to buy a new starter? Cheapest I have been able to find was $125 but that seems high since I've bought starters for cars for less than half.
