I am looking at a boat that has Mercury 300 . It was manufactured during Covid so it has the paint issues with the lower unit that seem to be pretty well documented. As far as reliability goes , does anybody have the good and bad on these motors. I never owned a Merc so I am just trying to make...
Thanks . Sorry I forgot to mention that the ignition key has to be brought back a bit after starting , if not there is a humming noise . Not sure if it’s keeping the starter engaged or not.
Was out fishing yesterday and boat wouldnt Start for awhile. I threw the anchor and was ready to call Tow Boat then I gave it another try and she started. When it wouldn’t start there was no noise at all, no cranking ,no clicking,nada! Got back to dock shut it off and tried it about 3 -5 times...
hello, I have a Lowrance 510 bottom machine and it crapped out , there is a X510 color I can pick up at a good price but it is only the unit, now wiring or transducer. Does anyone know if my current connections and tranducer is compatible with the X510C

I definitely can’t drill any holes pre purchase😂. The Stringers are fiberglass and the transom didn’t seem to flex at all when I pulled down on the outboard, not sure if that is really is an indicator for a rotted transom.
