For your boat and speed the tabs do not need to be parallel with the bottom.
They should be mounted 1/2 to 3/4 inch above the bottom and that might be enough to make up for difference in height as shown in the image.
Me thinks there is enough variance in mounting positions that the height...
Cut a hole in the soft spot and take a look. Until you do that everything is a guess.
Once you actually see what the issue is then you can figure out the repair.
Have you tested the boat after the tabs were installed? how did it feel?
All boats are different so the location of tabs on one hull may be a terrible location on another. If that location works on your boat then you are good.
Adding another set of tabs is a waste.
Might want to look into Uflex also.
I use their SVS line on my boat and it is superior in everyway to the comparable seastar unit plus the Uflex paddle trim is the best.
My motor had the same orange plug, I removed it and added the parts you see coming out of the right side of the tee in my image.
I needed to add that brass fitting so there was a larger barb for the gauge hose. You can see it is thicker than the original hard plastic hoses.
The brass fitting...
Bottom of the motor, between the cylinder heads, below the bottom right side coil as viewed from the back. Water pressure fitting comes off the motor. Should already have a tee with a orange plug.
I ordered a new kit from scamazon for like 15 bucks because mine was leaking a bit.
In the image...
Get them surveyed by a competent surveyor who can provide references, there is a quite a difference in cost of ownership between those 2 boats.
Vinyl will last 30 years or more if taken care of and the boat is stored inside and only a few years if the boat is left outside with no cover.
The...
For general family boating that is more than adequate. There are difference in the way the boat feels and you don't want to be sucking sand and whatnot into the jet but it will be a fun boat.
pulling kids on a tube is not the same as pulling a 200 pound experienced slalom skier.
I've never seen a fuel line run above the cockpit sole (the deck is the part you lifted off the hull). While it would be easy to service it certainly isn't a standard practice from a marine design standpoint. As Reserector mentioned I would read up on the regulations and follow them very...
Rob4926, here you go, from someone who owns a 2004 Searay, very good info. For the record though wood is very common and what you'll find in most boats.
Going to be hard to find a boat without wood in the stringers, it is how most are made. If the boat was well cared for, kept dry, and passes a thorough survey there is little to worry about.
I can't stress enough the "dry boat" thing. Keep water out of the cockpit and bilge and the boat will...
