I bought this motor a month ago and the guy gave me 2 stroke motomaster oil 400ml left, it's the cheap Canadiantire oil.
So I guess this is what he used in the motor for 14 years.

I have removed the 6 bolts holding the lower unit but something is holding the shift cable and I am unable to completely drop it.
What next?
So it was over tightened and probably never greased so it's completely worm out and 40 degrees before and after it has a lot of loose play and becomes tight again.
This is with the screw completely tightened.
What can I do?
I have rebuilt the carb but not the fuel pump.
The primer bulb seems fine and not soft at all.
it doesn't seem to bog all the time but if I hold it at WOT it happens then goes away, might happen again for a sec or 2 then go away. Then it might be find and I can keep going.

I just got a mariner 1986 i believe is the year.
When I'm only at top speed or over 3/4 speed I think the motor is misfiring.
It makes a stuttering sound.
I rebuilt the carburetor thinking it was dirty and still the same issue arises.
It does not do it consistently but very erratically...
