Finally came across a diagram that shows the small black hose from the top of the engine (taps into the raw cooling water) actually is supposed to tie into the exhaust manifold drain. That drain has TWO hoses; the one mentioned going to the top of the engine and the second one the blue hose...
... So to drain the block I need to disconnect that black hose and put it into the bilge also, correct? Just dropping the two blue hoses does nothing for draining the block just the exhaust manifold. Or am I missing something here?
I recently purchased a 2014 boat in excellent condition with a 3.0 engine. I understand the blue hoses are for draining the block and the exhaust manifold, but on my engine both blue hoses go to the exhaust manifold outlet (!) and the block drain nearby on the port side back of the engine...
