Is intake silencer required to run wide open throttle on 69 55hp Johnson? engine completely rebuilt,carbs rebuilt. Intake silencer was not with this engine. When we put the boat in the water, not getting full throttle rpm with engine cover on.
Runs at higher rpm with cover off. Any thoughts?
Motor will not run wide open throttle without removing hood. Idles fine, starts fine, runs fine up to low rpm. Any ideas on what I should be looking at here?
