Old bearing must have spun in the recess and enlarged the hole. The new bearing is now slightly loose in the gimbal plate hole.
Can I use shims to hold the outer race tight ?

I think a newer acr will "sense " no voltage and not charge that output, but I don't think diodes are that smart.
