    Mercruiser manifold on order already, compression test on my next day off from my paying job. Do you know if I can reuse the manifold mount bolts? Is there anything you put on the threads prior to installing? I did find torque specs elsewhere around the site, thanks

    What engine do I have?

    Ok, new to me 89 ebbtide Montego 170, looking to get a manual for this, but can't cross the serial number, and can't even make it out on the outdrive. I don't want to assume anything as I was gonna look for points and was told otherwise! Great forum, thanks for the help

    Something missing from the distributor?

    Hi all, new to me mercury 3.0 in an Ebbtide 170 from 1989. Just starting to go over it and found these wires at the distributor, the single one is just aft. Any ideas? Thanks

    Inner transom plate missing?

    Just got a 1989 ebbtide 170 with a 3.0 and it looks like the inner transom plate is missing? The outdrive is installed and intact, but the rear mounts aren't attached to anything? Sorry for the close crop, had to shrink it to fit. Just picked it up, haven't had a chance to more than look at it...

    mercury 9.9 pulling while at speed

    I just put a mercury 9.9 (mid 90's, has the shifter integrated with the throttle) pushes my 12' starcraft like a rocket, even porpoised at wide open! :eek: Anyway, it pulls to the left at speed only, as if it wants to turn right. I see a screw with something missing under the cavitation plate...

    I know, strange post but I just got this boat/trailer and was looking for some info on it. I can get more pictures but now this is the only one I have. The registration says 'hawkline' but I think that badge on the boat refers to a marina in RI, not sure. Googled 1962 hawkline and got nothing...

    rebuilt 85hp force wont start, turning too slow

    Hi guys, longtime lurker, few posts! I got an 85 hp Force motor on a bayliner last year (cheap!) the PO rebuilt it then it sat for about 3 years. It was never ran. I can turn it over but it seems too slow. I happen to have a parts motor so I did swap the starter as well as tried to 'jump' it...
