so I've got a 1970 16 ft ski type boat with a 69' merc 95hp outboard. I've been dealing with leaky power trim ever since I've owned the boat and last time at the lake the whole system just let loose. so my question is powertrim really necessary? its an old boat and I dont want to spend the money...
so i have been doing some searching and have not been able to find a definate answer...
i have a 1970 hull with what i believe is a late 60's mercury outboard (950ss).
i have been thinking it would be nice to have a stereo installed, but im not sure what kind of charging system the motor...
so i have been sorting out some power trim issues... and while cleaning nasty old oil/grease i found a sticker... from what my research shows it came off of the power trim unit... it says something about using only 10w-30 or 10w-40 motor oil....:confused:
i have done some research.... and yes...
so i searched and searched and i have not been able to find much info...
so i have just had my boat for a couple weeks now and have noticed some issues. there was an awful lot of greasy stuff near the power trim pump....
well come to find out, all of threads on the fittings have been pretty...
