Ok so no manual yet (it’s on way)
I have electric shift stinger 78 ish
Something had locked up the complete drive and motor (I bought this way)
Pulled drive motor turned so that was good
Drive seemed to turn
Found vid for pump replacement so following vid but few things seemed odd
I didn’t find...
Ok so just picked up a boat with omc 120 4cyl
And electric shift outdrive
Motor wouldn’t turn over off starter or by hand
pulled starter tried prying on ring gear no go
Pulled drive put a pry bar on ball coupling and it turns
Went back to outdrive and turned that ball coupler on it
So...
Ok so my hull is in poor shape so I have been looking into other hills.
I found one but it's a bravo outdrive hull will my alpha fit
The motor and drive is already been removed from this hull
ok so I set the timing up in my boat as per the manual (I think 5 degrees) but back when I use to drag race we use to set up at max curve was something like 28 total degrees at 3800
so would like to know what the merc 260 should be at max curve so looking for degrees and rpm
ok so on my boat that I have only had out once has a prop with too much pitch . the boat is a 1978 hammond 19.75' with a 260 merc and a alpha mr (I think it's the one with eye in top )
prop that was on it was a 21p and it would put the nose up high and work hard to try and get up but would take...
This prop came in a bunch of stuff from my uncle
I would like to know if it will match what I have
The numbers I find on side are rt16762 then 1447 also see a 9362
If I look at centre 48-79570-15

i want to remove the rubber and have a look at the screws to tighten them /add some to my old boat the upper half of the hull shakes a bit when on water and i noticed few areas where i think the lower hull can be pushed in just below this
any tips on doing this
well took it out seemed ok hard to plane (think prop issue)
bottom half of hull seemed solid but the top half seamed to shake the dash and cuddy door area I'm thinking it needs some new support put back in . was also wondering how tough it might be to pull the rubber strip and check/add some...
ok so i had out drive off and apart put in new pump . i think the linkage when in wrong and also think the set up in the boat (shift plate was all wrong )
currently have bottom end off and cable off plate
I need to know should the cable be pulled all the way out and the lower in gear so prop...
ok so in this 78 of mine the trim switch wires were rotted off I think some time ago and the wires are do not appear to be out in the open inside the boat any help on colors to look for and such be great . all the diagrams i see look different as my boat has toggle switches in a console . also...
ok so i did a water pump replacement on my out drive. and once all done and went to fill it with oil and it started to come out of hole . an anyone point me to what to look for when I pull this apart should i remove the upper and lower from the boat to look aat or just remove the sierra bottom...
so on my current boat when i pulled out the outdrive there was a ring (Gasket) around the round part that goes into the gimbal . my last boat didn't have this ring when I took it apart is it really important to be there ???
