Hi all, I havent been around for a while. Im not building another boat, and so I got out some old epoxy. The part B looks good. But the part A (the clear one) is very cloudy and a bit hard in the middle.
Im sure I wont use it on the boat. But I also have an old bench top id like to use it on...
Ok, I have isolated the problem to the remote control box. My box is a 'power pilot' Early Model Single lever remote control shift box.
The problem: It will shift into forward just fine. But it wont go into reverse. It wont even go all the way back to the middle position (neutral) where the...
Not sure if this is good or bad. But anyways, couldnt find my old bolt that helt my shift rod into the shift clevis.
So I used one of my old water pump bolts and turned down the end of it (approx to the thread minor dia).
Seems to work like a charm. I dont even remember what the old bolt...

Well, i got it figured out. I used a soft mallet and tapped the impeller down over the key. Then I used zip ties to squeeze the impeller down. Then I slid the housing down over it. And then reached in with a knife and cut the zipties.
I have a 78' Evinrude 70hp. Just ordered a new water pump, and thought it would come with instructions. But it didnt. :cold:
My question, which direction does the rubber water pump impeller get crammed into the water pump housing?
Its been so long since I took apart the origional, so I cant...

The story goes like this.
He was on the ohio. Trolling, fishing a hole.
Decided to leave the hole.
