1987 evinrude 150... The engine idles perfect dosent stall... Trying to get in plane is doggish but it does kick in a few minutes and goes.... As it running at 4800 rpms its will just drop down rpms and sonetimes goes up... Sonetimes it will run perfect at 5200 rpms will no dropping rpms... But...
my mecanic looked inside my engine said one of the pistons kinda looked bad, said water was getting in there he said he could put it back but not sure if it would last long. should i just have him clean and fix them and change all the seals. how much should that cost thanks
my lower unit just went out not sure why it stared to make some loud noises i thought it was my engine what causes them to go out also when i turn the prop it makes loud noises how much to repair its a 150 evinrude xp thanks

i have put key in forward disconnected brown wire and the i touched it to engine block and there was no sound.the brown wire is the one that has a rod inside the block right what else should i try thanks

when i first use boat in morning it runs fine if i go 8 to 10 miles and let it sit for a while then when i try to go it will bog out unless i hold the choke in when i hold it in the it starts to pick up rpms and then im good to go untill the next stop.carb problem or could it be something else...
