I have a 5.7Gxi motor used in saltwater. Its a pretty ancient design and very high maintenance. How easy would it be to slot in the new 5.3 Gen V V8-350C? it has closed cooling and is state of the art and lighter than the ancient 5.7 units. So much more modern, VVT, much easier to maintain.
Obviously hoping it is a spun hub not a coupler.....
Happily driving down harbor today 3000revs VP 5,7GXi 2010 SX-A drive suddenly lost drive, strange sound, tried again engages gear normally comes onto plane then suddenly as the load increases loses drive.
Happily goes along at idle...
My 5.7GXI is coming up to 5 years old/ 200 hrs.
It lives in very salty south florida on a lift where it sits unused for 3 months inbetween our visits. It is always flushed through after use and before being left sitting.
Do i just change the manifolds/risers now? Or take them off and inspect...
