OK I've looked at the troubleshooting and wiring diagrams. The positive purple wire goes in to a round plug pin #5. Where does it get it 12volts from? At least I'm glad I know why its not starting I just want to make sure I find the problem to fix it.

OK I thought I checked everything but tonight when checking for spark I noticed in the dark that I only get one spark when cranking. Would that be the coil? Or is something telling it not to spark anymore?
OK I've read all the posts I could find and the service manual. I need to replace the trim sender but I'm nervous about removing the gimbal ring becasue of the bellows. Can I just remove the gimbal hinge pins without removing the bellows and get access to the wires?
OK not sure about this one. When reinstalling the outdrive, the female coupler on the gimble housing for the shifter isn't at a perfect 90 when the throttle is all the way forward. This makes it difficult to get the outdrive back on. Is it supposed to be at a 90? Do I need to adjust it?
