Ya there is play left to right. Also it was just under load going full speed the steering just gave out. Brand new rack and pinion steering installed so it has to be where it connects to the drive.
Hello, I have a 1972 mercruiser with an Mc-1. I replaced the rack and pinion steering this year and everything has been great until this past weekend. Under load the steering would come loose and I'd have zero control of the boat. Going slow it would work but as soon as I picked up speed it...
The motor was completely rebuilt so compression is great. I just ordered a thermostat as I took it apart and it doesn't have one. I just find it weird when I'm driving like even 15 mph it stays cool and as soon as I idle it goes hot
Hi guys, I have a 1972 mercruiser 153 ci 2.5 L 120 HP. I've replaced the impeller in the lower end a couple times. I have a thermostat that just tells me the temperature of the engine. Usually sits around 160-180 when it's running fast but when I'm idling it likes to go to the red over 200. Any...

Okay perfect ya just cross referenced and it looks like the bR6ES is the correct plug equivalent for 73 and below. Thanks. Maybe it's just the right plug and have to adjust the electric choke and the idle air screw.
Also my electric choke hasn't been working. It's a 1 wire but don't understand the grounding. Do I need to add a ground wire from the 3 screws on the plastic cover to the base of the carburetor? When I turn the key it instantly begins to heat up
Hi guys I have a Mercruiser 2.5 L 153 ci 120 HP with a carburater I bought off Amazon. It has worked great for me but my spark plugs get pretty black and fouled and then it starts to run crappy after a while. Can someone point out the air/fuel idle screw so I can potentially adjust it to not get...
