I bought 1980 jhonson 15hp it ran when I bought it yesterday I change plugs and lower unit lube now it runs for few seconds gap at 30 it sat for few years it came with brand new tank and gas line and some gas 1-2 gal then I tried my tank still wont run
looking at prop to get more rpm. theres a key way with no key and keyways on shaft is smaller then the one in prop. but theres a sherr pin though. as much as can find stamp on front hub says p j 40 looks like you could put bigger dia prop on. im not sure of pitch .1976 jhonson model 40 el 76r
have 40hp 1976 jhonson outboard i had carb cleaned idles good . when i go to full throttle it makes it to 12 mph change plugs few times no change have good compression 118 in both cylinders and good spark i was thinking bad or weak power pak any answers

1972 outboard check for spark i have spark in both cylinders change spark plug,gas.gas tank,gas lines with bulb turns over strong i notice the inline fuse looks to be too long you cant close ends togeather i broke glass of fuse
