switching cables to other side of control box

Got an old shipmaster control box. Im switching the cables so they go out the other side. My question is, how is this pivot? Removed. Its the same on both sides. Is it screwed in? Popped in? Its not budging on and attempted turns AND its fragile, so i dont want to ruin it.

    what are these called?

They go onto the bolts between the outside of the transom and the wood that the motor mounts to. Theyre about 1 inch long, fit a 1/4" bolt, and have a nut inside so you can screw them on. I need more. They seem to act as spacers/padding but also seem to help seal. What are they called? Also...

    Jonhson Remote Controls (throttle)

Johnson 6R-69M 6HP Seahorse Long story short, I want to (have to) put a seat on the rear bench on my 12' semi vhull so i'll have a back that works after a day of fishing. The problem is, the bench is real close to the outboard, so, if there is a seat there, the tiller hits it thus making...

Rebuilding the fuel pump on a 6R69M

I disassembled the fuel pump, reassembled, but am now questioning if it was properly reassembled. There seems to be little, to no documentation on the net about proper assembly. The engine runs, but its been dying out. This could be because of a handful of other issues im working on, BUT, i'd...

Getting a 6R69M running (good) again.

I'm about to order the rebuild kit for the carb. The carb has received a full thorough cleaning and 24+ hour soak. Followed by another carb spray clean and finally compressed air. A few questions: 1. On the slow speed needle port, there is a "packing" material that had to be removed. Its like...

    1969 6r69m 6hp Outboard questions

Previous owner let the motor sit (with gas) for quite some time, but ran it before that. To get it running I: I fixed a small fuel leak in the inlet hose. I removed the carb and cleaned it out. I checked the impellar/pump/greased the shaft again A couple noob questions: 1. This thing likes...
