Are any of the major boat builders making an outboard powered runabout these days in the 17-20 ft range? All I am finding new is I/O powered boats. I much prefer outboards due to ease of winterizing and the extra room in smaller boats.
I have owned two 16 ft aluminum bass boats with the 48 SPL motor and just recently bought another 16 ft with a 1998 50 hp Johnson. The boats with the 48's were both heavier and wider but seemed to be considerably faster than this lastest with the 50. They both had the stock cast prop whereas...
I have a 1998 50 hp Johnson in Charcoal Gray that I need to touch up a few places on. I can only find paint for Evinrudes it seems and am wondering if their 1986 up charcoal gray is the same as the Johnson charcoal gray? I cannot remember ever even seeing a gray Evinrude.
I have replaced several impellers over the years including 25 hp evinrudes. Anything special I should be aware of before tearing into this new to me motor. No problems other than it still has the original according to the P.O. and I want to replace it.
Been out of boating for over 10 years and just started back last year with a new 4 stroke. July 4 this year I purchased a second boat with 50 hp Johnson. $14-15 a quart???? $40 a gallon or more. When did this happen. Course I remember paying only .79-.89 a qt.. for regular motor oil also...
Re: Check Iboats First!!!!!! Thank you Iboats!!!
Got the new seats installed today after very fast shipping. The P.O. had installed a War Eagle Boat bench seat the was very uncomfortable for my bad back plus it made it very difficult to get on the back deck. These are so comfortable I think...
Ordered 2 Temprest seats from Basspro last night on a whim even through they were backordered. Happen to look at Iboats today just out of curiosity and found the same seats nearly $50 cheaper each!!!! Needless to say I was able to cancel my Basspro order and immediately placed my order with...
Does anyone know the exact lenght in ft and inches listed for an 1990 Alumicraft MVangler. I just bought one and cannot make out the lenght on the registration card. There is a considerable difference in registration cost and required gear here for boats 16 ft and over. Thanks
I am looking at several different Alum. bass boats. In each case they come with either 40, 50, or 60 hp Merc 4 strokes and in each case the boats are at or near Max hp rating and performance wise they are all very similar. My main concern is reliability. Just wondering if one of these...
Who here owns one of the newer welded Trackers and are you happy with your boat? Thinking of buying a new Pro 165 and would like your feedback. Price on the 165 is just hard to beat in this size rig with the 40hp.
Several months ago I started a thread concerning purchasing a new 4 stroke 20hp over a heavier 4 st 25. I was replacing an older 25 hp Evinrude than runs great but no longer trusted. I just wanted to tell everyone that my new 20 hp merc is actually faster by 3 mph than the old Evinrude. 32...
Why do people let their perfectly nice boats sit out in the weather and rot? Is it that difficult or exspensive to put a $20 tarp over them if nothing else. Craigslist makes me sad sometimes.
