Price of 2 stroke oil WOW!!!!

Been out of boating for over 10 years and just started back last year with a new 4 stroke. July 4 this year I purchased a second boat with 50 hp Johnson. $14-15 a quart???? $40 a gallon or more. When did this happen. Course I remember paying only .79-.89 a qt.. for regular motor oil also but this is rediculous!!!!

You might want to check which 2 stroke oil you are buying. There is some very special 2 stroke oil for the newer E-Tech engines that is that expensive, but not needed for regular 2 strokes.

This was pretty much across the board Wallyworld prices for Quicksilver and Johnson/Evinrude oil. They had synthetic of course which was even higher. No Castrol or other brands even available at this store. Had looked in Gandermountain the other day and theirs was much much higher even.

Try another store. I can get dino TCW3 in Canada for about $18 a gallon.
Should be less in the states.

I'm buying Evinrude XD50 for $24 a gallon delivered to the house. I can buy Penzoil Premium Plus for $15.99 a gallon at our local Autozone.

I'd like to have one of those for my collection.

We have xd-30 oil in bulk $31.00 a gal, and we even supply the jug, once the word got out it's like woman at a shoe sale.

Didn't think of looking at Autozone but I know Wallmart sells 5 qt jugs for less the Autozone 4 qt jugs of motor oils most of the time.

send them my way. i could use bulk oil with delivery lol i change all my fluids every year in everything 4 wheelers, cars, trucks , and know the boat

not to thread jack but for a quick responce. what oil do you use in the lower unit. just plain gear oil 85w90?

I don't know if there is any difference but I use outboard gear lube only. More waterproof maybe??? Don't really know.
My Walmart here in West Tn appears to be gouging!!!!!
