    Hello all; I have this 1976 70hp and I looking for a name to put with this part. It goes to the rod that shift the motor into forward and reverse. These are pictures of the part that is broken.

    I have this 76 70hp evinrude and the key switch went out and now I need to replace it. can some instruct me as to how to remove it to get to the key switch. I have removed the shifter, the bottom half of the controller but can not figure how to remove the top half the controller.

    will not start

    I have a 1976 70hp that will not do any thing when the key is turn to the start position. What I need is some help in detecting the cause of the problem. This year does not have a kill switch on the controls.

    I have changed the impeller on my motor but is still not pumping water through taller tail, is there something else that I should change since it is not pumping. 40hp mercury classic or old 50.

    Yes I have a manual tilt 40hp mercury classic with the serial number 9670959; I am tring to find out what year it is and I am looking for carburater kits for it there are 2 carbs on it and it is a 4 cly. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Motor ID

    I have this 40 manual tilt mercury and cannot find the serial number tag on the jack plate or motor, all I find is a number on the freeze plug that reads 9670959 can anyone tell my what year it is from this number.
