Thought my gimball bearing was shot but its not now what?

I have been hearing a loud roaring sound with stern drive up or turned... and when slightly revving the engine. Been seeing some water coming in the boat also... So figured it was the bellows and gimball bearing. I pulled the lower unit and checked the water pump... it looked new as well as the...

What is this part / hose and can I reuse it?

Ok so I am in the process of replacing my gimball bearing, bellows, water pump, and anything else that might be questionable. I pulled the lower unit off last night and a small hose was attached. When I tried to pull the hose off of the plastic nipple, the plastic piece came unplugged...

Re: Hull repair help needed This is 3 coats dry took just under a quart of gel-coat. I covered a bunch of scratches along the bottom on both sides while I was at it. I plan to sand this up a bit then add another 3-4 coats as it is still a little too thin (I can see some day light illuminating...

Re: Hull repair help needed First run of gel-coat put on with roller. color is very close... lucky me. I used neutral mixed with off-white pigment. I probably should have used white + the pigment as neutral starts off kinda a gray and I was worried it would be too dark.

Re: Hull repair help needed So here is a update: Final lay of glass, then a coat of waxed resin. Then sanded everything down with 150 and 80 grit. The work is a little bumpy but smooth to the touch. The strake has a few dips and so forth but really won't be visible under the boat anyway.

Re: Hull repair help needed Man you guys make it look so easy...;) I had quite a time working with the glass getting it to conform to the strake was the biggest pain and wetting it out while holding it in place on the boat:eek:. I had to pull the first layer I tried back off after I failed...

Re: Hull repair help needed Here are some pics of my progress: I had some trouble getting the peanut butter to stick to the boat it kept falling off. I had to mix a new batch without the 1/4 chopped strands. I then had chunky apple sauce that wouldn't smooth out or build up because it...

Re: Hull repair help needed Ok been forever but been busy with other things. Here are some shots of what I have uncovered while sanding... Looks like there was more damage than I thought. I think someone rammed a log or landed on a island while running wide open or something. Who knows...

    Hull repair help needed

Re: Hull repair help needed I kinda came up with a game plan after reading through a couple of Keel Repairs done here recently... Let me know if I am totally off given my scenario... First I should grind down the entire V shape tell it is flat with the rest of the hull and remove the gelcoat...

    Hull repair help needed

Re: Hull repair help needed No not that I can see I don't think the damage penetrated through the hull anywhere. Some better pics from inside might help... I have drawn an arrow where I estimate the damage is on the outside. Also keep in mind that the V shaped Chine is hidden under a...

Re: Hull repair help needed A few more... The 2nd lay of glass seems to have never mated with the outer most layer of glass along this chime line... Leaving a hollow area under the outer layer causing a week place all along the chine.

    Hull repair help needed

I need some help with patching a busted hull. Any advise is much appreciated. :D I was worried that the patch job done by the previous owner wasn't holding up... and scared as to what damage was lurking underneath. Not sure what they used to patch it. Probably an off the shelf bondo / quick...
