Had to tear down my 6 month old carb (on a 1991 mercruiser 3.0L) because some sand slipped by the screen filter. When I separated the bowl into two halfs the gasket separated also. I only need this one gasket (all others are intact and near new looking) but the only thing I've found are $45...
I've got a 1991 Mercruiser 3.0L and as far as I can tell it only has two sub-par fuel filter elements in the whole system. One "stone" filter in the belly of the fuel pump and a screen filter at the carb. Nothing that removes water though.
My question is... if I splice in a canister style water...
Did a detailed inspection of my motor last weekend and noticed that the 4-bolt plate that covers this area is starting to rust pretty bad around the edges. Something I'd be concerned about if it held in some kind of fluid... but probably wouldn't worry about too much if it was just a dust cover...
