You have a generator on this motor, but you are using the terms generator and alternator like they are the same thing.

I have a mostly 1969 40 HP Evinrude Frankenmotor.
The air tube for the hot air choke is long gone. Hasn't been on there for decades.
However--there is a port from the intake manifold that goes through the carb to the auto-choke...

Yes, the kill switch or ignition switch shorts the 2 points sets together to kill the engine.
The center post of the over-rev cutout goes to one set of points. The other wire on the center post continues to the kill switch and/or...

They are set parallel to the center line of the crank, not parallel to the taper.
Torque is 60-65 ft-lbs
