Thank you Kenny, will go out in awhile and try those bolts and add some grease. Speaking of that, I have had several things that get jammed up from old grease like this, wonder if PB blaster would work or help free things up if they were to make a version of the penetrating oil in a grease gun...
I have searched a lot for this already but had no luck, can someone either help me step by step on how to add grease to the tilt clutch instead of oil...and how to grease the tube (can't recall if it has a proper name) that it pivots on or post a link to a video or two. I swear I had watched one...

After researching what may be a good compression result on an older Evinrude I am left with more questions.
1. Do some years of outboards actually come from factory with lower compression then other years? With same HP that is.
2. Does the acceptable PSI depend greatly on the brand and model...
