    it's the middle and lower cyl on starboard side , the middle one was just a few drops of water , the lower one an ounce or too. I ordered the gasket and seal but they won't be in until Tues. or weds. . I also took off thermostats housing and there was no thermostats in either side . my dealer...

    so I got the divider plate off , only 1 bolt was a little tuff to remove , and it was not rotten at all , a little carbon but not bad , so where should I be looking next ? head gasket ? Thanks

    serial # OT556519 engine ran fine all last year , when taking it to boat ramp at end of season in no wake zone (about 10 min ride) notice temp gauge going up , no alarm sounded and no sign of over heating. where i keep boat in winter i hooked up garden hose (not muffs) and flushed with water...

    it's all put back together and engine runs in forward and reverse as stated in post #8 , just want to make sure it's good to go before i put in water

    yes i have neutral and engine turns when turning prop , so i started engine put into forward and reverse and all is good , thanks for the help !

    ok so it does spin freely in neutral , but put it in forward and turn the prop and the engine turns over (flywheel moves cw) but does not ratchet
