Well, last winter it was the restoration of two nice starcraft boats. I wanted something a little different this year, so I decided to combine my two hobbies (steam engines and boats). Here goes nothing :)

Hello, I got my boat and motor finished, it's a 1957 Starcraft SkiChamp 14' aluminum I restored with a 1956 Evinrude Lark 30 hp that I re-built. I recently had it at Webster Lake in Indiana at the AOMCI MOB meet. She would make 20 mph at 3100 rpm via tiny tach with the prop that came with the...

Here is the scoop on the casting.
Step one, mount your original to a flat surface and clean up it's flaws as best you can
Step two, build a mold box and pour in your silicone mold mix

Anyone know where to find repro remote start and choke buttons and the dash plate for them? I have a 56 lark and am mounting it on a 57 Starcraft SkiChamp
Ok, So I was reading tashasdaddys sticky, and it said to use fuel pump part # 18-7351
BUT IT IS LISTED FOR 9-15 HP, AND I AM WORKING ON A 1956 30 HP LARK. IS THAT STILL THE SAME SIZE PUMP, OR WILL I BE STARVING MY ENGINE FOR GAS:confused:
I have an option to buy a 1957 Big Twin, that "was running when I put it away" for $250. Is this a decent motor? I am looking for a period motor for my 57 starcraft ski champ

I just picked up a non running 54 Johnson 5.5 hp Model CD-10 and I am looking for a parts diagram, as I am missing some pieces and need to know what they are called. I am also looking for an owners/operators manual and service manual.
Thanks!
Look what followed me home! A 1957 14' Starcraft Ski Champ and original trailer. I also just picked up a 1956 Evinrude Lark 30 hp electric start engine for it. Just what I need, another project boat! SWMBO thinks I am nuts! here are plenty of photos for you to look at:

I am getting a 57 starcraft runabout that needs an engine, and I found a mid 50's Lark (30-35hp) for $200 and I was wondering how costly and hard it would be to convert it to use a standard tank?
Did anyone use the hull as ground when running wires? Or do You run a seperate ground back to the battery for each item. ie: bow light, 1 wire from it or two?
It's a sickness, saw this 57 starcraft for sale, I can get it for 425 + 250 for a shipper to deliver it, I will need a vintage short shaft motor and controls as well as a pulley steering system. I am guessing it had a windshield at one time too. What do you guys think, is it worth it?
