I need some help with a yamaha 115 115TLRA It has a oil tank on motor and a reserve in the boat,
Alarm sounds and goes in limp mode with both Bottles full.
- checked oil tank sensor on motor, 4 wires, Ground, White, brown, and red.
ground is grounded,, sensor works according to plan, with float at top, white is grounded, No oil pumped, float at middle - brown is grounded and remote oil tank turns on, when sensor at bottom, alarm sounds and remote oil bottle turns on, float works fine both manually and when in oil moving easily from top to bottom.
here is my problem, alarm is always sounded when remote tank shows oil.. The remote tank sensor has a black wire and a black/red, black verified grounded, when sensor goes to bottom, no alarm ( as motor bottle still has oil) and no oil pumped to motor, however when sensor is lifted to the clip, ( showing remote bottle has oil) the red/black wire gets grounded as it should and oil pump turn on to fill motor bottle, but alarm sounds and engine goes into limp mode. I replaced the sensor with a new yamaha parts and no changes.
My only issue is that when remote bottle oil sensor is up ( indicating oil in remote bottle) it works as should to pump oil when commanded from engine tank,, but alarm sounds immediately and puts boat in limp mode. Wires to and from harness all look good, no corrosion or shafing that I can see, motor looks all original and wiring not messed with,
thankyou for your help with this.

It would appear the logic is reversed, but you cant assume the alarm is related to the oiling system.

Most alarms circuits are wired in series. You could simply be clearing the sensors in the oiling system and alarming on the next sensor in the circuit.

You need to look at a schematic(s) for the alarm system as a whole and do some trouble shooting

I appreciate your help with this, I looked up the wiring and it appears only two things set off the alarm and put it in limp mode. Low oil at the engine tank and the two temp sensors in the head. ( there is no fuel water sensor) I unplugged both temp sensors and still have an alarm when remote bottle sensor shows full. If i ground either temp sensor pink wire, alarm will sound, so i do not believe that the temp sensors are related. I am out of ideas right now.
