just wondering if there is something that will only let you trim so high when running wot, sunday I was running at 63mph at 5500rpm's and no matter how much I tried I could not get it to go higher? thanks in advance :confused:
What are the advantages of using a lock and stow type instead of the transomsaver that goes down to the trailer.I just heard of one called m-y-wedge and they make them for Johnson's? what do you think? :confused:
I was recently told that when the Faststrike motors first came out that they were actually 175hp de-tuned or worked to run and sold as 150hp for a while then re-called and made to be real 150hp is it possible to have an early one that is actually a 175hp with 150 rating just curious??? :confused:
I recently put in a new trim gauge on a Ranger 374V with a Johnson 150 Faststrike where should the needle be when running WOT when I try to run at 5500rpm's the needle is at the very top of the gauge, when trimmed down she is at the bottom line is this normal? :confused:
just wondering if you guys use a motor toter or the one that is on the motor I have a Faststrike 150 hp some told me to get rid of motor toter and use the built in is it safe for the transom it's on a Ranger? :confused:
I was in the process of putting in a new guage and the fitting where the water should of been coming out , it wasn't so I tried to remove it and it snapped off.My question is there seems to be an Identical one on the port side that is plugged could I use that one instead? the motor is a 1990...
How important is a pressure guage on a 1990 Faststrike I run 60mph at 5500rpm on gps no guage doesn't work never had on in my other boat should I fix it? :confused:

I'm buying a 1990 Johnson Fast Strike and was wondering what to expect from it always had a Merc. Are these dependable motors it runs great and real strong.
I have a 1980 Rander with a polyflake finish and you can feel the flake when you pass your hand over the top Is it possible to have it clearcoated and with what products can a body shop take care of this or specialty shop.Also how old does a boat have to be before it is an antique?
Took boat out today trim motor goes on all by itself but will not go up or down just runs. if I hit front switch a couple times it shuts off but goes back on all by itself again and runs. what do I do now??

I have a 75hp with a cracked air silencer and have trouble with throttle when I feed it slow if I hammer it she goes also when I try to put it on the trailer she stalls could the crack have anything to do with it I already rebuilt the carbs.
Just wondering I have a chance to replace my 1985 75hp with a 90 hp would I gain anything I get about 40 on a real good day now it wouldn't cost anything it's a freebie just needs a little tlc and some cosmetic stuff.
