    Trouble w/ reinstallation of pull start on Sailmaster 7.5

    So I wanted to replace a carberator on my early 80's sailmaster 7.5. I had to remove what I want to call the rip cord barrel. Its where the pull cord raps around w/ the spring on the bottom. So I removed the 2 top bolts, and the 2 bottom bolts. Now I am trying to get the thing back together...

    Motor ran great then new tank and fuel lines

    So I have an 1978 Johnson 6hp that ran great two weeks ago. Then I sold the boat and bought a new plastic tank (metal went with boat) and fuel lines from Walmart. The motor will start idles for a minute or so then dies. It appears its running out our gas. My guesses... 1. on the new boat...

    78 Johnson 6hp stalls after 15 min of running

    I have a 78 Johnson 6hp that starts great, runs for about 15 min then if I drop the RPM it will stall and give me a struggle to restart for about 10 min. I am thinking its the plugs. I know I saw it on here before but what is the recommended plug and gap....??? I am thinking its a simple fix.

    1971 and a 1978 6hp parts interchangable?

    I just picked up a 1978 6hp for my sailboat that originally had a 1971 6hp. I see that the 1978 has a cut off button and a "tell tale" weap hole in the bottom of the casing. Are the impeller part numbers the same? How about the lower units?
