    1992 Celebrity 200 Fuel Tank

Need to know the gallon size of the fuel tank on our 1992 Celebrity 200 Cuddy Cabin w/5.7L (350) I/O. Was told it holds 90 gallons, but when we filled up the tank last January, it only took 40 gallons and there was less than 1/4 tank of gas in it.

    St John's River Boat Traffic????

Crossed the Buckman Bridge (Jacksonville, FL) yesterday and seen 4 boats on the water. St John's River don't get the boat traffic like it use to? Drove by Goodby's Landing Ramp and only a handful of vehicles/trailers (less than 1/4 full) parking lot! See a lot of boats in Dry Storage at...

    Goodby's Channel In Jacksonville, FL?

Looking for anyone who uses a powerboat on Goodby's Creek Channel to get out onto the St John's River in Jacksonville, FL area. In mid 2009, we started launching/retrieving our 1992 20' Celebrity 200 Cuddy Cabin on Goodby's Creek Ramp and there was no "Shallow" warning buoy at the end of the...

Many Older (60 Plus) Power Boaters Out There???

Power boaters meaning: ski, cuddy cabin or bowrider. Anyway, we are in our mid 60's (64/65) and I was curious about the percentage of boaters that are out there in our age bracket and older. We seen very few-to almost none while living in Colorado (Denver metro), North Carolina (Lake Norman...

Preference: Lake, River or Intracoastal Boating?

While living south of Denver, CO, we put our old Bowrider on two different lakes/reservoirs......Chatfield and Cherry Creek. Boating on both of them was definitely fun and easy. Since living here (4 1/2 years) in the Jacksonville, FL area, we have found out that it's NOT so easy boating on this...

    "Metal Hitting" Noise In Reverse

Have read some older Threads asking about this, but didn't see any info helpful to us. Anyway, have a '92 Celebrity 200 Cuddy w/5.7L engine and Alpha One outdrive. Yesterday at our boat storage, had the muffs/hose on the drive and the drive down almost touching the cement, started the engine...

    Paint Is Faded II

Since the other Thread "Paint Is Faded" is at least a year or so old, I decided to do an add-on to it. Why? Because we've done the vaseline and the restoring compound/polish/buffing (electric buffer) thing. Our boat is a 1992 20 ft. Cuddy Cabin. It has a wide maroon strip that goes all the way...

    Two Floor "Soft Spots" Found

Have a '92 20ft Celebrity Cuddy Cabin w/5.7L engine. Earlier this week I stepped on a 19 x 29 inch piece of plywood flooring next to the side of the engine and it was somewhat soft in the middle. I was able to pull up the carpet and SURE ENOUGH, the middle part of the plywood was pretty rotted...

    Thread Sealant On Drain Plugs?

Is applying thread sealant to block drain plugs necessary? Our new block, installed last year, had sealant on the plug threads and the plugs were somewhat hard to get out when I drained the block last Dec. I put the plugs back into the block, but didn't use any thread sealant (no water in the...

    HELP! Boating On The ICW

Guess what I need is some ENCOURAGING words so as to get rid of my fear of putting our boat on our local ICW again! Was on the ICW in Daytona Beach in May 2010 (our boat) with a couple that have a home and lots of boating experience on that ICW there. It was both fun and scary for me...

    A Boat For Christmas?

I was just wondering yesterday if anyone has ever bought a power boat for Christmas? A lot of things are advertised on that can be bought for Christmas, but what about a nice new (or used) boat? We remember when we bought a 1989 16' Invader Bowrider for Christmas back in 2005. We bought it...

    Replace Doel-fin Hydrofoil Stabilizer?

We are replacing a pretty bad anodoe under the Doel-fin Hydrofoil Stabilizer on our 1992 Celebrity 200 Cuddy Cabin and was wondering if we should also replace the Doel-fin Hydrofoil Stabilizer. We don't know how long they last, but each of the fins have a some curve in the fin (wearness...

    Bilge Area Water Level

What should be the maximum amount of water that would be in the bilge area after being out on the water for an hour or so? Where does the water come from that does get into the bilge area (being there is no water leaks anywhere)? Is it time to look for a water leak when the bilge pump is being...

    Winterization In Florida........Yes or No?

I have been told that "winterizing" is not needed in Florida. We haven't "winterized" our 1992 20' Cuddy Cabin since we bought it here in 2009 and it seems to have been fine each Spring. We done the "winterization" thing to our 1989 Bowrider when we lived south of Denver, CO, but their winters...

Older Boat Maintenance/Repair Costs..........And, When To Say "Enough Is Enough!"

Older Boat Maintenance/Repair Costs..........And, When To Say "Enough Is Enough!" One of the problems with a 20 yr old boat (1992) is the cost of parts/labor for maintenance and repairs. I'm old (well, 63) and absolutely cann't do anything for maintenance/repairs to a boat engine or drive (it...

    Are You A "Fair-Weather" Boater?

If we were some 30 years (or more) younger we wouldn't be, but, almost in our mid 60's now, we sure are! With whatever we do for fun nowadays, we have to (actually must) watch out for our health. Being caught in the rain can get us sick, bopping around on the water in wind can give our bodies so...

    New Engine Block Break-In

Just got our 1992 Celebrity 200 Cuddy back with a new long block in it. The carb has been rebuilt w/new plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, belts and alternator. The manifolds/risers are a year old. I've been reading that the break-in time is approx. 20 hrs. The mechanic who installed the new...

    Choosing The Right Mechanic

How's your marine service-mechanic with: attitude/customer service, labor cost, parts costs, reasonably clean/organized shop and office? One marine service/mechanic (Mercruiser Dealer) we've used does a great job, BUT, charges $95 per hr labor and costs for parts aren't cheap. Their labor...
