    Making An Engine Hoist

Has anyone made their own engine hoist:confused:. I like those that are like a little crane lifted by hydraulic cylinder that is hand pumped. I want something I can wheel around my shop not something hanging from a tree. Mostly used to transfer an outboard from one boat to another.

Minimum Cloth At Base of Stringer to Glass In Stringer

Most of my stringers are 1x6s. If I use 36" wide cloth, cut in half to 18" wide, 6" on each side of the stringer that would give me 3" on each side to glass down to the hull. Is that enough:confused:.

Before I install the two pieces of 3/4 ply should I use a layer of mat between hull and ply or will the plywood bond to the fiberglass hull with no problem. Pics of Weird Keel Stringers

Has anyone seen a stringer layout like the one in this keel? The center is one 2x4 lying flat then about half way another 2x4 is butted against that standing up. Also the center 2x4 stringers do not come all the way up to the bottom of the deck like the 1x6 stringers on the sides. I think...

I was fishing with a buddy one time on his center console and near the back of the boat in the deck was a drain in each rear corner. Materials For Bedding New Stringers In

I was just watching a video from ship shape t.v. and they said the wood stringers should not contact the hull directly because of the "hard joint" factor. I had not thought of this on the stringers, I had read post on this same subject pertaining to deck and hull joints. What options do we...

    Glassing Stringers In Sections??

Can I start at the transom and glass over the stringer maybe in 4ft sections. The reason Im asking is because I can get the "repair packs 2ft x 4ft mat" at Walmart cheap. After the...
