    I've got the manifold off to replace the gaskets and the gunk is really built up inside.....Is it ok to spray cleaner in there? Also, the plate in there is bowed ....Is that servicable. thanks I'd like to post a pic of the block if I can.

    What's a whole new water pump consist of on this model? I've been having overheating probs and it's been suggested that I put in a whole new pump. I just replaced the impeller. It's hardly been used. I did not replace the housing though. Just was wondering. thanks

    Scoring and burrs on driveshaft 1961 75 hp Johnson Electric Seahorse V4SL-13

    When took the lower unit apart and disassembled the water pump the driveshaft had some scoring and a few burrs causing the top of the pump housing to snag up and not come off. Any ideas on what might cause this? they are about two thirds up the shaft. Thanks. I hope i didn't trash the top...
