    If I remove any of the fittings on the motor or exhaust, do I need some special thread sealant to re-install? Or will teflon tape work?

    Can run with no thermostat as a test on a temp issue?

    Boat sat for 5 yrs before I bought it (has 4.3 GL-C). If it idles on trailer it will not overheat but will go up 3/4 temp gauge...taking RPMs up a bit will drop temp to just above half but not ever run below half once warmed up.
