    Fastest boats on the lake?

    A friend of mine asked me, Sport fishing spend all day on the water trolling around at 2/3kms fishing so, why do they all have huge hp motors like they were drag racers? I don't know, anyone care to enlighten me?

    1988 evinrude 140 vro

    well, did compression test - 118, 115, 114, 118. fuel is good and timing is correct. however i have a weak spark to 3 cylinders and one has no spark at idle. do i replace powerpack or pull flywheel and inspect timer base etc. any help would be very welcome

    can someone pls confirm for me which cylinder is no1, just to ease my suspicions about the timing on this beast of mine.

    1988 Evinrude 140 vro - missing at idle

    Compression is good, fuel system is good and clean, carbs stripped, cleaned and blown with c/air and new kits in. coils are all good, plugs are new. Reeds are all good. motor runs great flat out. At idle it misses and quits, restarts ok, primer bulb stays hard, giving more gas does nothing...
