    Rain water?

Usually my bilge is pretty dry, always a little water there but not enough for the pump to even pick up. We've had a lot of rain here this past weekend and was wondering if even with a cockpit cover on, will the bilge have a large amount of water accumulated after heavy rains. My pump rain for...

    Pedestal seat bolt?

Want to bolt down a pedestal seat for me in my boat and would like to know if I should use just the lag bolts or the anchor lag bolts where you put the piece down in the floor first and the bolt expands it when tightened. We already put a new 3/4" plywood floor down over the existing floor,so I...

It's supposidly a Michigan prop and is marked J 8 0. It looks different than the spare prop that came with the boat which is a 13 3/4 x 15...

Launched it today. question about prop

Finally launched it today and it's wonderful. question is, I could only get 3000 rpm w.o.t. out of it. Motor ran smooth, good oil pressure, good temp. My marina says could be the wrong prop on it, because it should be able to do 4000-4500 rpm. It's a 2.5,120 hp OMC. Any input on this? Thanks I...

    What paint?

Having just cut off and epoxyed the spots where 4 screws were sticking out the bottom of my boat , can I just shoot some spray paint over the spots like Kryon or Rustoleum? The spots aren't very big at all and I just figured that would be fine to cover the spots up.

    Will both batteries charge?

With the battery switch on "Both" will the running engine charge both batteries simultaneously? If yes then I suppose having the switch in either #1 or #2 will charge that particular battery selected.

    Christening my boat.

Well next week we'll be putting her in the water and was wondering if we should christen it. It already has a name on it that we'll be keeping. Do we christen it seeing it's our first boat. I'd like to change the name sometime but heard that it's a complicated deal with the Sea Gods and all...

How bad is this gonna be?

Well after getting everything straightened out and putting the final tune-up on the motor(OMC 2.5,120 hp, 4cyl) still had a miss. not that bad but I know it's there. New plugs, cap, wires, rotor, condenser, points. #2 cylinder is way down on compression. Just barely blows your finger away from the...

    Where's this water coming from?

Had my mechanic come over tonight and change the oil and filter and check the outdrive fluid. It's a 2.5,120hp, 4cyl. After running it and warming it up, it had 40lbs oil pressure and ran between 160-180 degrees. Shut it down to check the compression and adjust the points. I went in the house...

    Screws sticking out the bottom

While working on the boat this weekend I notice 4 screws stick out the bottom of it. They're about 1/2" long and look like deck screws or something like that. I don't want to open a can of worms here . Should I just silicone around them or cut them off and silicone over the spots. They may have...

Where to mount my battery switch

Re: Where to mount my battery switch Yes the dual batteries will be where the one is now, so I guess I'll mount the switch down under that seat also. I can lift the seat to get at the switch. I'm gonna dock the boat, so that's why I'm using dual batteries because I'll have a full time auto...

    Bimini top question

Hi, trying to get some views on this. If I buy a 36" tall bimini top, will I need to buy those slides that go on the gunwales so I can slide it to the back of the jump seats when not in use? I know it depends where the pivot point is attached, but with a top that's 6' long that will cover the...

    What to do come spring?

Having purchased my boat in early Nov., My friend already had it winterized and ready for storage. What will I have to do to un-winterize the motor and outdrive?
