    Distributor no.?

    Anyone know where the part no. on a '72ish delco distributor is stamped? I have 120hp 4 banger. Is the base gear driven or is it something else? I remember an old GM car I had with a dog that fit a slot so it only would fit one way. Thanks in advance.

    Where does the O-ring go?

    Dropped the lower unit to correct a wiring problem in the electric shift and now I see an O-ring setting on the ground beneath the powerhead. Does this thing go on the water pump outlet or on the drive shaft below the splines. I'm guessing the top of the drive shaft, no?:confused:

    I'm new to I/O's just bought an old pre-alpha 120hp with points/condenser ignition. This thing pops and backfires some, occationally dies while cruising, but restarts easily at least so far.
