    well my stringers are made out of plywood ,,,when i up grade /recut new stringers ive been advised to epoxy some 2x4son top of 1 another then cut to size and use those instead ,,,any thoughts...my stringers are a maximum of 12 inches high...

    when i took my boat apart there was dang carpet every were

    man there was carpet every were ,,,when i took the cap off there was carpet linning the hull totaly inaccessable unless you took the cap off ......the carpet has to be the worst for soaking up water and just leaving the water stand against the wood ,,,,,,im sure it had some sound deadining...

    I am replacing my carpet at the same time as having my transom worked on by a fiberglass shop, he offered to roll a layer of somthing on the wood .........is there any thing any one can think of that would help it not rot while its still healthy ,[ that could be done while at the glass shop]...
