    merc 9.9 missing out

    I have a mercury 9.9 I think it is an '88. The engine misses out when it is cold. It just started a few weeks back and it is getting worse. Someonne told me it could be the coil. Any advice on checking it and replacing it.

    50 hp force no fire

    i have a 50 hp force 88'--92' not quite sure of year. The engine will not fire except a puff very rarely. We think the coil is the problem. Is there any way to test it?

    50 hp 89-92 not sure no fuel to top cyl

    still not sure on year of motor. it was free and we are doing a lot of troubleshooting. problem 1. no fuel to top cylinder. problem 2. thought we could at least get a fire from number two cyl but not much seems like it is out of time. added fuel to number 1 and still no fire to either

    Merc 9.9 smoking and missing out

    I have a Merc 9.9 I think it is a '93. Quite often it only hits on One cylinder until it warms up. After that, it runs fine with the exception of excessive smoking from exhaust which is constant at any time. I am mixing at 50:1.
