Nope,...... That's what hose picks are for,......
For extremely tight fitting boot, I spray inside 'em with Quicksilver Power Tune to get 'em to slip on though,.....
Ayuh,...... Use a hose pick to free the rubber boot from the riser/ elbow,......
To reinstall the rubber boot onto the riser/ elbow, squirt the rubber boot with Quicksilver Power Tune,......
It'll slip right back together,....
Ayuh,...... That lower unit is Junk,.....
I suggest you pull the entire drive off, as all that sillyseal says it was probably installed without the gasket,....
'n it'll be easier to determine the gear ratio, manually with it off,....
If it is a 1.98:1, it's not the right ratio for that I-6...
Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,...... Donno 'bout the whistle, but most of the movement you show, goes away when the motor is running, 'n the pump is making pressure,......
Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,....... The aluminum barb fitting on the 90* fitting on the tank's diptube, should have a check-ball, 'n spring in it,....
That's the anti-siphon valve,....
You should not be able to easily blow through the fuel pump, as the fuel pump is nothing but a diaphragm...
Ayuh,..... Merry Christmas to you, 'n yer's too,......
The rear mounts should be tightened, then the side motor mounts are adjusted to alignment,.....
Donno why, or how much "reefing" yer lookin' to do though,...
On a fresh motor install, I tighten the rear mounts, lift the front slightly...
Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,...... Donno whether yer motor or drive was swapped, coulda been either, or both,....
No doubt, you now have a mismatch,.....
The drive coulda worked with that motor, although the gear ratio would be wrong, causing over-reving, 'n lower that expected...
Ayuh,..... I donno the wire colors, but when you turn the key to "start", the slave solenoid powers the starter's solenoid, which powers the starter, 'n the outside tiny terminal of the starter's solenoid, which sends battery voltage to the points, only when starting,.....
Ayuh,....... Welcome Aboard,..... That drive will only work with another 3.0l motor, not with yer OMC motor,......
'n the SEI adapter you mention, only works on the much newer OMC Cobra drives,.....
Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... What vintage,..??
What motor,..??
What drive,..??
There's a big, like 1" hose that goes from the transom housing, to the t-stst housing,....
AD is sayin', look where it comes in through the transom,....
Ayuh,...... Welcome Aboard,....... iboats is more of a Diy help site, rather than how much to pay somebody else to fix it site,....
Besides, without knowing what's wrong, how can anybody guess,....
