    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

Well crap, I haven't had time to tear into the new boat yet but doing some spring cleaning, I finally parked them side by side. These hulls are not the same. I am not sure what year they changed yet but the bow angle changed quite a bit. I guess I will have to do some more digging to see how...

I'm not exactly sure what engine you're running but I'm assuming a Chevy 5.7 from my personal experience and what I've read along the way 100 PSI is pretty much the bottom for most engines. You lowest shouldn't be less than 70% of the highest.

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

I just realized I said 2001, the second owner got the boat in 2021. It has a crack block so I'm assuming they got one season out of it and winter snuck up on them.

I was actually trying to find that the other day and couldn't find the link to it. I know I've seen it before.

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

Finally got the new Holiday home. Found some goodies stashed away too. Man I wish I had some of this paperwork for my 68. Also, if anyone is in the market for a bedazzled steering wheel cover that fits a 73 Holly, I got you :)

That is the plan. You definitely hit the nail on the head. I think it'd be hard for people to understand if they didn't go through it themselves. Looking back at the pictures and watching my kids grow up I can remember almost every day and what we were doing. It was definitely a devastating...

    1968 StarCraft Holiday restoration

And the journey continues. I just bought another Holiday. Luckily had a friend in the area and he offered to go and look it over. She's not perfect but all there and no dents, or at least any major ones. It will be a couple of weeks before I go pick it up in Michigan.

StarCraft holiday 18ft 3.0 to 4.3 swap, good idea?

One thing to think about is you will lose the 2 jump seats on each side, not just the space but the added weight of the engine will probably reduce your capacity by at leas 1 adult or 2 children. you could put a bench seat in front but then you are really getting heavy in the back. might not be...

I'm not sure about other people's boats but I had mine sealed up perfectly tight. Well at least before I got crushed by a tree. It didn't leak even the tiniest bit of water no matter how long it was out

the problem with foam stems from lack of proper storage and freezing temps. if you leave ways for the water to seep out and keep it stored properly covered you should never have any issues with foam. freezing water is what destroys the cells

I disagree, foam adds a lot of structure to the boat as well as sound deadening. I was on the fence with my build but after going with poured foam I definitely would do it again.

Stainless in aluminum will cause corrosion, especially below the waterline. That 5200 will hopefully create a barrier between the 2 metals though.

This may carry over from some of the old ignition systems found in vehicles. I remember running into this on my old CJ7.

solid rivets are going to be 3/16 or slightly undersized, pop rivets will be different sizes, just find the drill that removes the head without making the hole bigger. Depending on how much rivet work you end up doing you might end up going through several bits. You can pick up multipacks of...

I did a coosa floor in my Holiday. The stuff it bulletproof, very nice product that will last forever. You can actually get them to custom make your transom if you send them a template.
